Zahra Moloo is a freelance multimedia journalist and documentary film producer from Kenya. Much of her work focuses on investigating the extractive industries, particularly the influence of Canadian and European mining companies in Africa. She has also covered stories on migration, environmental issues, and the war on terror in East Africa. Previously, she worked for Integrated Regional Information Networks (IRIN), an agency focusing on humanitarian stories. Her work has appeared in BBC’s Focus on Africa magazine, Al Jazeera English, IPS News, Agence France-Presse, Pambazuka Press, CCTV’s Faces of Africa, and Africa is a Country. She has reported and produced films from Kenya, Tanzania, South Africa, Uganda, the DRC, Senegal, Mali, occupied Palestine, and Libya. She also worked as the Africa press consultant for the Right Livelihood Award Foundation, supporting human rights activists and environmentalists in their campaigns for justice.
