Past Programs

South Africa

There have been 2 programs in South Africa:

  • HIV/AIDS Reporting Fellowship 2011 - 2013

In partnership with major South African media outlets, the IWMF prepared journalists to produce in-depth reporting on issues surrounding the HIV/AIDS pandemic. The Reporting Fellows represent a range of both national and com-munity media organizations from several different South African regions, most notably KwaZulu-Natal, the region with the highest HIV prevalence in the country.

  • Tuning Into Radio: Women Reporting on HIV/AIDS in Africa 2002

A 2-week program with the production of "Positive & Proud," a CD with the features written and presented by the workshop participants. Global distribution of the CD provided a unique avenue for outreach and visibility for the IWMF.
