Courtney Flanagan is the development manager for the IWMF. In addition to meeting with donors that share her interest in journalism, she enjoys traveling with the incredible winners of the Courage in Journalism Awards. Courtney is “Mom” to her dog Austen, enjoys the occasional sangria with friends and loves to read in her spare time – and is always looking for book recommendations.
Raised in South Florida by a single mom who fosters children, Courtney was inspired by her generosity at an early age. She has been interested in issues concerning women and children for a long time and volunteered in a domestic abuse center while in Florida. Working at the IWMF has expanded Courtney’s horizon and allows her the opportunity to support a range of programs that cover a multitude of topics.
Prior to joining the IWMF team, Courtney helped raise funds for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. As their development manager, she worked to strengthen donor relationships and assist with the planning and fundraising for their leadership events.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and a master’s degree in Nonprofit Management from Florida Atlantic University.
