Jessica Oppenheim is head of External Communications for Bank of America. In this role, she is responsible for all media relations for all lines of business and staff support areas, the company’s public relations, and executive and corporate social media strategy and communications. Jessica reports to the Chief Administrative Officer and is based in New York City.
In her previous role, Jessica was head of Global Banking and Markets (GBAM) and International Marketing and Communications. In this role, she was responsible for managing media relations, internal communications, marketing, and client events for the company’s corporate and institutional businesses. She was also responsible for coordinating enterprise media coverage across the bank.
Jessica has more than 20 years of experience in external and internal corporate communications. Prior to her current role, she was head of communications for GBAM, and previously was head of media relations for GBAM and the Global Wealth and Investment Management business.
Prior to Bank of America’s acquisition of Merrill Lynch, Jessica was head of Merrill Lynch’s media relations for the Global Markets and Investment Banking business and also for the Chief Financial Officer group, a role that included managing media relations for the firm’s financial results and other corporate issues.
Before joining Merrill Lynch in December 2000, Jessica held corporate communications roles at other global financial institutions including ING Barings, Furman Selz and S.G. Warburg.
Jessica serves as executive co-sponsor of Bank of America’s Chief Administrative Officer Employee Satisfaction and D&I Council. She is also a board member of Summit Public Art.
