Program Assistant
Lavina Joseph is a Program Assistant at the IWMF where she assists its Howard G. Buffett Fund for Women’s Journalists, Reporting Grants for Women’s Stories, and Round Earth Media programs. In her spare time, Lavina enjoys going to the gym, reading current events, and learning Modern Standard Arabic (MSA).
Lavina is attached to her home country of South Sudan and is actively collaborating with various South Sudanese in the U.S. diaspora to find ways to bring peace and change in South Sudan.
Lavina completed her bachelor’s degree from the University of Washington in International Studies with minors in Human Rights and Political Science. She also recently completed her master’s degree in International Affairs with a concentration in International Affairs and Development with a regional specialization in Africa from the George Washington University.
