Senior Development Coordinator
she/her
Meghan Jonas works as a Senior Development Coordinator, where she supports IWMF’s mission of breaking barriers and supporting women and nonbinary journalists through fundraising initiatives, grants, events, and donor engagement.
Meghan began her career freelancing for her local paper as a teenager and continued to work in journalism in Nevada and Montana, eventually becoming the inaugural Community News Director at Capital Community Media in Oregon where she built a news department dedicated to telling the stories of those who had been left out of traditional media’s focus and building trusting, long-lasting relationships within the community. In between newsrooms, Meghan formed the development department at Sandstone Housing where she worked as a Grants Manager to receive funding for affordable housing, clean water and financial equity on the Navajo Nation. She is passionate about making a tangible impact on those around her through development opportunities, particularly when it comes to supporting other journalists.
Meghan was born and raised in rural Nevada and has lived across the mountain west. She is now settled in Oregon where she spends her free time wandering in nature, baking bread, gardening, crafting, or befriending neighborhood strays to add to her growing collection of pets. Meghan graduated magna cum laude from the University of Montana’s School of Journalism and is a proud alum. Go Griz!
