Sandra Roberts has worked as a social and communications analyst for over 18 years in South Africa and sub-Saharan Africa. Dr Roberts has a particular interest in mediated social interaction. She is the Research and Academic Head of fraycollege (a frayintermedia company), which trains people all over Africa and beyond.

Before joining frayintermedia, she was the Centre Manager of the Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Human Development at the University of the Witwatersrand. She was previously the Writing Unit Manager of the Institute for the Advancement of Journalism and the Head of Research of Media Monitoring Africa (MMA). Dr Roberts has her D litt et Phil in Sociology, MA in Sociology, and her BA in Information Science.
