Las periodistas Verónica Orantes y Carolina Leverón, presentan este corto documental periodístico gracias al apoyo de la International Women’s Media Foundation (IWMF) como parte de la iniciativa ¡Exprésate!

Soy Sobreviviente es la historia de una de las 56 niñas guatemaltecas que fueron víctimas del incendio donde murieron 41 niñas en el Hogar Estatal Virgen de la Asunción el 8 de marzo de 2017.

Luz, es una niña que tras vivir una tragedia que marca su vida, ve como la sociedad, el Estado y la justicia le dan la espalda para avanzar y retomar un proyecto de vida. A través de su testimonio, el de Ángel e imágenes inéditas de aquel día, se intenta reconstruir lo ocurrido, para lograr justicia y evitar que caiga en el olvido, un tema que sigue sin justicia.
