After a few days carrying around heavy camera equipment, I realized that chakula cha mchana (or lunch in Kiswahili) is a critical part of the day to keep my energy up while reporting. This plate contains all the Congolese hits: wali na maharagwe (rice and beans), petitpois (green peas), sambazas (herring from Lac Kivu) and greens.
