Clouds were rolling in fast on Tuesday afternoon, during a shoot in Rwanda’s Amahoro stadium. I had spent nearly two hours listening to Felicite Rwemarika, a woman who brought her love of soccer to girls across the country, tell me about her decades long journey to use sport for social change. By the time we wrapped up, dark clouds were looming.
I was so rushed to finish up a few clips of the field and bundle my camera into my bag that I didn’t even realize this lightning bolt until I parsed through my footage back in the hotel.
