Driving in La Guajira
Overtaking is compulsory. Even if someone else is already doing it.
It is ok to drive on the wrong side of the road when it means you will get there faster.
Car scrapes are common. We have been in one, seen four.
Road blocks happen when people want to protest against the mine, when children want sweets, and when you are driving through the desert and least expect them.
[Pic caption: This is us being triple-overtaken as we sit on the wrong side of the road after our crash while we were triple overtaking. Terrifying.]
