Emilienne Malfatto, “[I went on] a sunrise trek through the salt mines. This huge guy took me to see the Salinas de Manaure and I had fried fish for breakfast. Coming across him was completely unexpected and he really helped me, giving me the type of access to the salt mines I wouldn’t have had. A group highlight was when we went to visit the Cerrejón mine, one of the world’s largest open-pit coal mines. While we were in the room with these representatives, it was nice to feel we were together as a group. It was good to make them angry.”
