Honduras is much more than its murderous headlines

Honduras is much more than its murderous headlines – it’s girls piecing together their favorite memories through an art workshop (taller) at the Escuela José Cecilio del Valle in Tegucigalpa. I am humbled by the opportunity to report on children during this trip. They are the future of Honduras, so their stories matter too. One of the girls asked if I knew how to draw “nubes” – clouds. So I did, and she later came back with another blank piece of paper and asked me to draw more for her. Later, another girl who saw my clouds approached me and asked if I could draw her clouds, too. Though the story I am working on is a more serious one, it was a nice moment that I was lucky enough to share with these girls.
