Meet Megan Alpert, Colombia Fellow: “I became a journalist because I wanted to tell stories that are marginalized, misunderstood, or not told at all. For me, the most important thing while working is listening to my sources and being open to changing what I originally thought about a given situation. Stories are often a lot more complicated than we can really tell in one article, so the challenge for me is to present as much nuance as I possibly can.”
