She says that she chose to focus on print journalism because “writing has always been instinctive and necessary for me; I write to make sense of life,” she says. “I like feeling always equipped with nothing more than a pen and notebook.” In her journalistic writing, “I’m also trying to make sense of things, to lay them out as clearly and concisely as possible,” she says. “But even while trying to get information across expeditiously, I loves the luxury of detail and depth that print journalism allows, the ability to collect and present descriptions, data, trivia, history and context, to use my own and others’ words.“
