Why did you pursue a career in journalism?
Because I believe people need information to make conscious decisions about their futures, and that they need access to stories that don’t just focus on problems, but also on solutions.
Really it’s because I’m an idealistic, utopian sort of person who believes that people really will take action if you shed light on certain issues. I always worked in social justice in my past life, and journalism is a different way of doing good and sleeping well at night.
