One of my favourite things about the group reporting trip has been coming together each evening to share our triumphs and tribulations from the day. There’s grumbling, commiserating, brainstorming, celebrating—and often there’s a bottle of wine. Being a freelance journalist can be an isolating experience, and sharing the experience and helping each other out even when we’re working on different stories, makes it less so.
