Tribe – The best part of the two and a half weeks in Uganda and South Sudan would have to be having the opportunity to work with a diverse group of talented woman journalists. We gave each other tips on story leads, helped edit each other photos and footage, shared #MeToo moment in our careers and to change the industry, reported intensely during the day only stay up at night talking about new projects we want collaborate on in different parts of the world.
Freelancing is already a pretty lonely experience and as a woman journalist it can be even more isolating – but going into the future I feel empowered by my fellow IWMFers and comforted knowing that my tribe of female journos have grown!
